You want your wishlist to do more than the settings allow.
Swym's wishlist works well straight out of the box, and Swym admin covers the everyday settings. But every store has its own ideas: a seasonal banner, your own badges on the cards, a layout that fits your brand. Ideas like those need access to the wishlist's code, and right now that code lives with Swym, not in your theme.
What this prompt does?
This prompt copies Swym's wishlist into your theme as regular theme files. Your shoppers won't notice a thing: it looks and works exactly as it does today. The difference is that it's now yours to build on, in the theme editor or with your AI assistant. A few ideas: Show your own badges on wishlist items, like "Low stock" or "Bestseller"
Add a holiday or sale banner to the top of the wishlist
Restyle the cards and buttons to match the rest of your store
Rewrite the empty wishlist message, or point it to a collection
Or start from a ready-made playbook:
Spot the Deals
,
Gift List
or
Win Your Wishlist
The wishlist as a drawer, with multiple wishlists on, set up entirely from the theme editor.
What you can change
In Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize on the theme you installed it on. In the left sidebar, scroll past the footer to Swym, open Swym Wishlist and click Wishlist Plus. No code needed.
Turn it on or off: "Enable New Wishlist" switches the new wishlist on for your store.
Layout: Open the wishlist as a drawer that slides in, a pop-up modal, or a full page.
Multiple wishlists: Let shoppers sort their saves into named lists (on paid Swym plans).
Colours and corners: Set the primary and secondary background and text colours, and how rounded the corners are, to match your brand.
Notifications: Show a message when someone saves an item, and choose where it appears. You can also position the "add to list" pop-up.
Drawer: Pick which side it slides in from and how wide it is.
Wishlist page: Choose which page shoppers land on when they open the wishlist.
Need more than the settings? Your AI assistant can change anything else, from the card layout to the wording.
Good to know: if Swym's built-in wishlist UI (Control Center) is also switched on for your store, your theme's copy keeps working and keeps your settings. We'd still suggest asking Swym support to switch Control Center off, so shoppers' browsers don't load the wishlist twice.
The assistant reads your theme settings first. If the Wishlist Plus app embed is off, it stops and tells you to turn it on, since the UI needs the Swym SDK the embed loads. If Swym's hosted wishlist UI (Control Center) is on for this theme, it turns it off so two wishlists don't load. If Control Center is on for your whole store in Swym admin, a small guard script keeps your theme's settings in charge, and the assistant suggests asking Swym support to turn it off.
2. Files added to your theme
Four of Swym's core files (release 848) are downloaded into assets/ and checked against checksums, plus a few theme files that load them. If your assistant isn't allowed to download files, it stops and asks whether to allow it or to run the download yourself.

3. Where your changes go
Colours, corner radius, layout type, notifications and multiple lists: the theme editor, under Swym > Swym Wishlist > Wishlist Plus (below the footer in the sidebar).
Your own styles and scripts: swymcs-wishlist-store-specific.css and .js.
Deeper changes, like card markup: storefront-layout-components.js.
4. Known gotchas
The UI renders on your Swym wishlist page (handle swym-wishlist by default). If your store doesn't have one, the assistant tells you how to create it.
The wishlist text is added in English only. If your store sells in other languages, ask your assistant to translate the storefrontLayout strings into your other locale files; until then those shoppers see English.
Before you start:
This prompt assumes your AI coding assistant is already connected to the Swym Dev Docs MCP server. If it isn't set up yet, run the Connect Your AI Assistant playbook first, it's a single copy-paste prompt, otherwise the tool calls below won't resolve. You'll also need an AI assistant that can edit files and run terminal commands (for example Claude Code; chat-only assistants won't work), and your theme pulled locally with Shopify CLI.
