Brands move quickly - new collections, limited-edition drops, and seasonal launches all generate excitement well before products are ready to buy. But during this gap between interest and availability, a critical problem appears:
Shoppers may browse a product, feel curious, even get excited but leave with no way to communicate their interest.
And when the product finally becomes available, many never return.
This is exactly the gap Swym’s “Coming Soon” Alerts are built to solve.
Coming Soon is supported across both Swym Back-in-Stock Alerts (SBiSA) and Wishlist Plus (WLP), giving your brand a simple and reliable way to:
- Capture early shopper demand
- Build pre-launch engagement
- Re-engage high-intent shoppers the moment the product goes live
This article walks you through how it works, when to use it, and why it’s a powerful addition to your product launch strategy.

What Are Coming Soon Alerts?

Coming Soon Alerts allow shoppers to actively signal interest in products that are not yet available, something they can’t do today without this feature.
Unlike Back-in-Stock notifications (which trigger only when inventory is replenished), Coming Soon uses a product tag you control, such as:
- coming-soon
- preview
- launching-soon

When this tag is added and the coming soon feature is configured, shoppers can subscribe to get notified.
When you remove the tag, Swym automatically alerts every subscribed shopper.
Why this matters
✔ Capture shopper demand before inventory exists
✔ Maintain momentum for high-demand or unreleased items
✔ Control exactly when notifications are sent
✔ Launch products with a built-in audience waiting to buy
Best use cases
- Pre-launch collections
- Limited-edition / hype-driven drops
- Seasonal product lines
- Products waiting on compliance, content, or photography
How Coming Soon Works in the Back-in-Stock App

Inside Swym’s SBiSA app, Coming Soon acts as a separate alerting model, independent of inventory.
How merchants use it
- Add a “Coming Soon” tag to any product.
- Configure coming soon CTA
- Shoppers see a Coming Soon CTA and subscribe for updates.
- When the product is ready, remove the tag.
- Swym sends alerts automatically.
Alerts analytics appear in your Sent Alerts reporting.
Important information to note:
- Shopify tags are global not market-specific so Coming Soon triggers globally when the tag is removed.
- Coming Soon subscriptions don't yet appear in the Swym Admin dashboard. They are visible only when alerts are delivered.
Coming Soon Alerts for Wishlist Plus Merchants

For WLP merchants, Coming Soon fits perfectly into how shoppers already engage with your store:
- Wishlisting
- Saving items for later
- Tracking products they plan to buy
Setup for merchants
- Show Wishlist icon/CTA on all products.
- Add a Coming Soon tag (e.g., coming-soon ) on coming soon products
- When the product is ready, remove it
- Swym detects the tag and sends alerts to shoppers who engaged with the coming-soon tagged products.
The result:
Your wishlist becomes a pre-launch engagement engine, bringing back shoppers the moment you’re ready to sell.
Why Add “Coming Soon” to Your Store Strategy?
1. Capture demand early
Turn curiosity into qualified intent, long before inventory or launch dates.
2. Reduce drop-off
Instead of leaving with no next step, shoppers opt into updates.
3. Launch with guaranteed traffic
The moment you remove the Coming Soon tag, subscribers are notified first.
4. Seamless across your Swym ecosystem
Works with Wishlist, Save-for-Later, Back-in-Stock, and all existing shopper journeys.
5. Zero operational overhead
No inventory workarounds. No custom code. Just add or remove a product tag.
